Wildcats to Honor 11 Seniors this Saturday

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Ahead of Saturday's regular season home finale against West Texas A&M, the Central Washington University football team will honor the following 11 seniors.
 
#0, DB, PATRICK ROGERS
 
"Pat has been a stud for this program for a number of years," Head Coach Chris Fisk said. "He has truly left an incredible legacy as one of the greatest corners to walk through Central. Pat is a special kind of athlete that you don't get very often. His hard work and dedication will take him far in life."
 
Rogers is fourth on the team in total tackles this season with 36, despite missing one game. He's tacked on one tackle for loss and one blocked kick as well as leads the team in pass breakups with five. He was a named as a First Team Defense AFCA All-American last year, an Honorable Mention don Hansen NCAA Division II All-American, named to the D2Football.com Elite 100 list, and was named to the Second Team Defense All-LSC.

#2, WR, DEMONTE HORTON
 
"DeMonte has made the most of his time at Central since he committed to be a Wildcat," Coach Fisk said. "He has extended himself as a role model for the guys in his position group. He has consistently left it all on the field time and time again."
 
Horton ranks third on the team in receiving yards this season with 146 yards on seven catches. His longest catch this season came at 38-yards against Western New Mexico. The Idaho State transfer has racked up 405 yards and three touchdowns on 35 catches for an average of 25.3 yards per game over two seasons.

#4, TE, KAIDEN HAMMOND
 
"Kaiden has spent many years in our program while proving to be the epitome of our fourth quarter program. His toughness and commitment will surely take him anywhere he wants in life," Coach Fisk said.
 
Hammond has been a staple at tight end for the 'Cats the past four seasons. He earned Second Team Offense All-LSC last season. This season he's had six receptions for 56 yards and one touchdown as well as a kick return for 20 yards against Western New Mexico. He's had 19 receptions for 172 yards and three touchdowns with his longest reception coming in 2019 at Simon Fraser to conclude the season over his career. . Hammond has also gotten in on the returning game, returning two kicks for 26 yards the past two seasons.

#5, RB, TRE'JON HENDERSON
 
"Tre has made the most of his time as a Wildcat," Coach Fisk said. "Since transferring in, he has become one of the main staples in our rushing attack. His expressive personality will take him far as he works to become a broadcaster in the future."
 
Henderson transferred in from Division I Stephen F. Austin and showed his electric play earning the LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year this year. He earned Second Team Offense All-LSC last season after rushing for 837 yards and 12 touchdowns. He eclipsed 1,000 yards in his Wildcat career this season last weekend at Midwestern State, and currently has 1,074 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns in his two seasons at CWU. He's tacked on 91 receiving yards on 11 receptions over the two seasons.

#9, DB, JOSH FLOWERS
 
"Since Josh joined our program, he has given everything he's had to the team, contributing in many areas. His hard work and humbleness will take him far in life," said Coach Fisk.
 
The Division I Saint Francis transfer has played a key role in special teams in his tenure here. So far this season he's returned three kickoffs for 43 yards and three punt returns for six yards. He's also made 19 total tackles this year (13 solo, six assisted) and deflected two passes for the 'Cats defense. He's returned 13 kickoffs for 169 yards with his longest kickoff return coming in at 44 yards against Texas A&M-Kingsville. In total he's made 21 tackles in his career at CWU.

#12, WR, DANIEL JOHNSON
 
"DJ has been with us through a lot of the ups and downs, dealing with injuries," Coach Fisk said. "His perseverance and dedication are remarkable. We are ecstatic to have him back on the field for his senior season."
 
Johnson got back on the field for his senior after missing the 2022 season with an injury. He's made four receptions for 50 yards with his longest reception of the season coming against Western New Mexico for 21 yards. Over his career he's made 20 receptions for 331 yards and three touchdowns. His 2021 season saw him as a key part of the offense with 14 receptions for 272 yards and three touchdowns.

#14, WR, ZACH MATLOCK
 
"Zach made the most of his time at Central. He worked his way through position changes to become a reliable wide receiver in our program. Zach's willingness to step in wherever he's needed has been important to our team's success," Coach Fisk said.
 
The Boise State transfer transferred to CWU as a quarterback and played in four games as the 'Cats quarterback completing 10 of his 14 passes for 119 yards and four touchdowns. Matlock made the conversion to wide receiver where he's become a top target for CWU quarterbacks having eight receptions for 122 yards just this season.

#24, LB, JOHNNY NAVARRO
 
Coach Fisk had this to say about Navarro, "Johnny has been one of the most consistent guys since he came in as a freshman. Johnny has fought through some injuries but has still managed to give everything he has to this program."
 
Before his injury last season Navarro became a staple in the Wildcats special teams and defense. He's returned for his senior season and hasn't disappointed. He's had one punt return for 17 yards and made 13 tackles for the crimson and black (six solo and seven assisted). He's also blocked a kick and made two fumble recoveries this season. Over his career Navarro has made three kick returns for 50 yards and has made 23 tackles (11 solo, 12 assisted) and made one interception, one pass deflected, and had the two fumble recoveries, and the one blocked kick.

#27, LB, BRETT ACCIMUS
 
"Brett has been one of the most productive players on our defense over the years," said Coach Fisk. "Brett leaves it all on the field week in and week out doing everything he can to help the team. He has been a rock for our defense, and he will be missed in the halls of Central when he is gone."
 
Accimus has been a staple to the Wildcat defense since 2019. He's going out with a bang his senior season already with 41 tackles, 20 solo, 21 assisted. He's added on three tackles for loss and two sacks as well as one pass deflected. Over his career he's amassed 141 tackles (71 solo and 70 assisted) including a 76-tackle affair last season. Accimus has had 10 tackles for loss and five sacks as well as adding on one interception, five passes deflected, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick.

#45, K, JOSH JONES
 
"Since joining our program this year he has proven himself to be a weapon on our special team's unit," said Coach Fisk. "We are excited to see what the future holds for Josh."
 
The Glenville State transfer joined the Wildcats for his senior season and has been nothing short of stellar. Jones has shown how far he can boot the ball making five of his six field goals from 40 yards or longer. He's converted five of his six field goals with his longest coming at 46 yards. Jones has also converted all 18 of his point after touchdown attempts this season. He's been stellar kicking the ball off too, having kicked off 28 times with only nine of those falling in the opposing endzone for a touchback. He's racked up 1,630 yards on his kicks for an average of 58.2 yards per kick.

#86, TE, PAYTON GLASSER
 
"Payton is a captain of our program, voted by his peers," Coach Fisk said. "Payton sets the example of what it means to represent the core values of our program. He would do anything for his teammates, and it shows in his success on the field."
 
Glasser came to CWU after playing one season of basketball at Northwest University. He's become a leader and staple of the CWU offense in his time here. This season he's had one reception for six yards. He had a standout season last year when he made 20 receptions for 323 yards and two touchdowns finishing second on the team in reception yards and having the longest reception of the year of 76 yards coming at Angelo State. Glasser has accumulated 329 yards and two touchdowns over his three year career with the crimson and black.
