PORTLAND, Ore. – Johan Correa won the Great Northwest Athletic Newcomer of the Year award last Saturday following the GNAC Championships, where he took second place completing the 8K in 24:47.7.

In his first season running cross country, Johan won three races in a row before taking the silver medal at the GNAC Championships. His fantastic performances earned him the GNAC Runner of the Week for three straight weeks.

Johan won the Puget Sound Invitational (15:00, 5K), the PLU Invitational (24:23.7, 8K), and the Emerald City XC Open (25:07, 8K).

Correa will race for his fourth win of the season at the NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday, November 4^th in Monmouth, Oregon.
