Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Wildcats Fall to Yellowjackets 1-0

BILLINGS, Montana. – Central Washington women's soccer fell 1-0 to Montana State Billings Saturday afternoon. The Yellowjackets found the back of the net in the 18th minute. The 'Cats had six shots with three on target and Mallory Patzer made three saves in goal.

FIRST HALF
  • Casey Park got the 'Cats going with a shot in the tenth minute that just sailed high.
  • The Yellowjackets responded and scored the opening goal in the 18th minute. Mackenzie Carnell took the throw-in, received a touch pass, and found the bottom left corner of the net for the 1-0 lead.
  • Peyton Vogel's shot in the 23rd minute got blocked out in front, but Payton Lindell corralled the loose ball and fired a shot on frame that Tuva Sallvin saved.
  • Mallory Patzer made a great save catching a high shot in the 28th minute. Cassidie Andrews closed the half with a shot that almost made it through the MSUB defense.

SECOND HALF
  • Central Washington came out firing. Grace Jackson unleashed a hard high shot and five minutes later, Andrews took a low shot. Clare Keenan made both saves for the Yellowjackets.
  • Monica Brown found space and took a shot in the 74th minute that flew just over the bar.
  • Mallory Patzer kept the 'Cats in it in the final ten minutes, making two big saves, but Central Washington couldn't find the equalizer.

UP NEXT
  • The Wildcats return to Ellensburg for a match against Western Oregon on Thursday before Senior Day on Saturday against Saint Martin's.
