Wildcats Prepare for Final Homestand

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington's women's soccer hosts the final two games of their season this week. The 'Cats start with a challenging matchup on Thursday at noon against Western Oregon, and then they face Saint Martin's for Senior Night on Saturday at 7 PM where seven Wildcats will be recognized.

TAILGATE
There will be a tailgate with family and friends on Saturday at 3pm in the gravel lot near Tomlinson. 

PARKING
Please make sure to utilize the free parking lots for Thursday's game. The following free lots can be used:
  • X-12 is located on the NE corner of 18th & Walnut (No parking 2 AM to 6 AM, 7 days a week)
  • X-22 is located on the SW corner of 18th & Alder St (OVERNIGHT PARKING OK)
  • X-23 is located on the SE corner of 18th & Alder St (No parking 2 AM to 6 AM, 7 days a week)
  • X-24 is located on E 18th St near the Challenge Course (No parking 2 AM to 6 am, 7 days a week)

SCOUTING THE WOLVES
If the regular season ended today, the Wolves would be the third seed in the GNAC Conference Tournament. The Wolves are 8-4-4 overall and 5-4-3 in GNAC play.
 
Last week, Western Oregon lost 1-0 to Western Washington on Thursday, before bouncing back with a strong 3-1 victory over Simon Fraser. Jenna Efraimson, Haley King, and Lauren Rose found the back of the net for the Wolves. The win put Western Oregon a game ahead of fourth place.
 
Chloe Smith and Raeanne Jones captain the Wolves Offense. Smith has five goals, two assists, and 14 points. Jones is 2nd in the GNAC in points and goals with ten and four, respectively. Lilly Nowatzke has three goals this season on eleven shots on goal and has one assist. Six other players have scored this season for Western Oregon.

Darien Walton has started in goal the past two games. This season she is 1-1-1 and has six saves and a 1.67 goals-against average.    
 
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
The Saints are 3-7-6 overall and 1-6-5 in conference play. Saint Martin's dropped both matches last week, 3-1 against Simon Fraser and 2-0 to Western Washington.
 
Jamine Biava leads the Saints offense with two goals, one assist, and five points this season. Seven other players have scored one goal this season for Saint Martin's.
 
Flavia Burrell is the main keeper for the Saints. She is 1-3-3 in her seven starts recording three clean sheets. Burrell has a save percentage of 79 and has 34 saves this season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Central Washington played a hard-fought great game to earn a scoreless draw against 24th-ranked Seattle Pacific last Thursday. Mallory Patzer earned her first shutout of the season and had four saves on the night. On Saturday, The Wildcats fell 1-0 to Montana State Billings in a frigid matchup in Billings, Montana.
