ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington Cross Country travels to Monmouth Oregon for the NCAA Regional Championships at Ash Creek Park. The Wildcats look to improve on last year's regional performance where the men took 19
th, and the women finished 25
th.

"This is a qualifying meet for the NCAA Championships in Missouri. At some point, this will be a meaningful meet for everyone. For now, with our youth and where we are at, it is an opportunity to see some of the best teams in the country up close. No matter what, it will be a great experience for every single one of our athletes and we hope to put one or more through to the NCAA Championships."
QUALIFYING FOR NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The top three teams will automatically advance to the championship finals.
- The top two individuals who are not part of a qualifying team will automatically advance to the championship finals.
- All individuals who finish in the top five at the regional meet and are not part of a qualifying team will automatically advance to the championship finals.
- The next eight individuals will be selected at-large.

Central Washington men finished 6
th, and the women placed 9
th at the GNAC Championships two weeks ago.
Johan Correa took second place at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships, completing the 8K in 24:47.7.
Hannah Mikkelsen led the women finishing the 6K in 23:45.0.
Freshman
Steiner Christensen finished 20
th with an 8K time of 26:01.6.

Nicole Yanasak completed the race in 24:37.5 and
Beatrice Le Gore crossed the line in 24:46.0.
