TACOMA, Wash. - Wyatt Franklin logged a pair of event wins as the Central Washington University track & field team competed at the Peyton/Shotwell Invitational, hosted by the University of Puget Sound, on Saturday, Mar. 25.

• "It was a strong showing for Wyatt to pick up two event wins with marks that were both solid. It was good to see two 2nds from Logan and Brenna as well in the discus, so some nice domination from us event-wise. Deylan also had a good day placing 2nd in the pole vault. Overall, it was nice to see those who chose to compete get in some solid efforts."

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• In the shot put, Franklin placed 1st with a throw of 45' 10", a season-best mark for him. He followed that up with a 1st-place performance in the discus throw with a 144' 2" launch.
• Logan Martin came in 2nd in the discus throw, right behind Franklin, with a throw of 128' 9".
• Brenna Board earned a 2nd-place finish in the discus throw with a 119' 8" hurl.
• In the pole vault, Deylan Okinaka leaped 13' 5.25" on his way to a 2nd in the event.

• The Wildcats will be back in action at a trio of meets across the west coast next weekend, including the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, the Stanford Invitational, and the Pacific Open.
