Williams and Men’s 4x400 Relay Team Earn Event Wins at Whitworth Peace Meet

SPOKANE, Wash. - Juliette Williams and Men's 4x400 relay team brought home event wins as the Central Washington University track & field team competed at the Whitworth Peace Meet earlier today.

QUOTING HEAD COACH KEVIN ADKISSON:
  • "It wasn't the greatest of conditions but people competed hard. We shifted some things around for some people. It was great to see people dig in and get some PR's, which is super encouraging. I'm excited to see what'll keep happening in the coming weeks as we continue to get into more of that true spring weather."
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Williams took the Wildcats only solo event win of the day in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.05. She followed that up with a 2nd place performance in the 100-meter dash (12.20), setting a PR.
  • The men's 4x400 relay team for Austin Albertin, Johan Correa, Cameron Ramsey and Cantrell Thomas ran a 3:18.83, good for the relay win.
  • Jumping 42' 3.25" in the triple jump, Isaiah Webster came in 2nd place. He also set a PR in the 400-meter dash (51.48).
  • Braydon Maier earned a 2nd place finish in the pole vault with a leap of 15' 4.5".
  • Tehya Moore PR'd in the triple jump with a launch of 35' 10.5", good for 3rd place.
  • Chris Hines finished 3rd in the triple jump with a leap of 43' 1.75", while also setting a PR in in the javelin throw (121' 2").
  • Johan Correa placed 3rd in the 400-meter (49.44).
  • Other Wildcats to set PR's include Aiden Wise (400-meter), Shawn Clough (800-meter), Isabella Holmes (discus throw), Grace Twiss, (100-meter hurdles), Beatrice Le Gore (1500-meter), Hudson Moore (200-meter), Cantrell Thomas (400-meter) and Ethan Coon (1500-meter).

  • On tap for next weekend for the Wildcats is a trip to Calif. for the Bryan Clay Invitational/Long Beach Invites for Thursday, Apr. 13 through Saturday, Apr. 15.
