ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington Baseball came out and won both games of Saturday's doubleheader 16-4 and 12-3, to split the series with Saint Martin's. The 'Cats had 14 hits in game one and put up 16 in game two.

"I thought the guys responded well we played well in all aspects today. I thought Brady and Reid did a great job. We played great defense today."
Desi added, "Trip has been hitting this season and he is putting together a good year. It has helped us a lot that he has been productive and is giving us clutch hits. Austin had an awesome weekend. The guys made adjustments offensively.
Ben Leid had an awesome day and Felton has been productive for us."
GAME ONE
- The Saints struck first, scoring two runs to start the game. The 'Cats answered with six runs in the 2nd inning. Trevor Tripoli roped an RBI single to right field that scored Ohland. Jake Felton scored on a passed ball to tie the game at two.
- "Baba" Varner Jrs. double gave Central Washington the 4-2 lead and Ben Leid's RBI single to center field drove in the 'Cats sixth run.
- The Saints scored two runs in the top of the third to cut the deficit to two. In the bottom of the third, Trevor Tripoli tripled down the right field line, and next up, Larson hit an RBI double stretching the 'Cats lead to four.
- Central Washington capitalized on control issues from Saint Martin's in the fifth inning. The Crimson and Black mixed in hits, walks, and smart base running to score five runs.
- In the seventh, Kyle Rodriguez hit a sac fly that scored Jake Felton to give Central Washington a commanding 16-4 lead
- Brayde Hirai threw seven innings before Jonathan Garza II came in and finished the game. Garza II threw 2.2 innings and recorded five strikeouts as the Wildcats took game one 16-4.

- Brayde Hirai got the start and picked up the win for the Wildcats. He worked 7 innings and struck out two batters. Jonathan Garza II came in for relief and threw 2.2 innings striking out 5 Saints.
GAME 2
- The Crimson and Black put up three runs in the opening frame. Ben Leid got the 'Cats on the board with an RBI double then, Austin Ohland came up and hit a long ball to left which gave Central the 3-0 lead.
- Larson hit an RBI single up the middle in the second inning pushing across another run.
- The Saints responded in the top of the third. Brady Bean belted an RBI single to right and then Mark Steward hit a sacrifice fly to left field that scored Sasaki.
- In the bottom of the third, Travis Helm mashed a homer to left, and then Austin Ohland launched one over the left field fence for his fourth homer of the series.
- Central Washington took a 7-2 lead into the fifth inning. Charlie Larson hit an RBI single to left field. Next up, "Baba" Varner Jr. reached on a fielder's choice that scored Hinkle extending the Wildcats lead to seven.
- Later in the inning, Helm knocked an RBI single to right center, and then Leid followed that up with an RBI single of his own to give the 'Cats the 11-2 lead going into the sixth.
- The Saints put up a run in the sixth when Austin Schaler hit an RBI double to right field that scored McCorkle.
- Reid Rasmussen finished his complete game strong, helping the 'Cats to the 12-3 victory and the series split.

- Central Washington has a quick turnaround, the 'Cats play Eastern Oregon on Tuesday at 3 p.m. here in Ellensburg. The Wildcats then travel to Western Oregon for a weekend series with the Wolves.
