Goffs Two Interceptions Lead Team Black Over Team Crimson 33-21 in the Crimson and Black Spring Game

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington football team concluded their spring season with the Crimson and Black Spring Game Saturday afternoon where Team Black (the defense) prevailed over Team Crimson (the offense) in a 33-21 score. Both teams had former Wildcats as honorary coaches for the first series of each half with Team Black's honorary coach being Adam Bighill and Team Crimson's honorary coach being Rick Cadwell.
 
Team Black started out with 26 points at the beginning of the game and was allotted five points for forcing a turnover that resulted in a touchdown and two points for forcing a turnover. Team Crimson's scoring was just like a normal football game with six points for a touchdown, three points for a field goal, two points for a two-point conversion, and one point for an extra point.
 
Team Black was guided by Josiah Cochran who nailed two sacks for seven yards, Timothy Timeteo who added on two sacks for 20 yards and a pass breakup, and Connor Goff who had two interceptions, one being the nail in the coffin for Team Crimson as it was returned for a touchdown.

Team Crimson was led by Justin Brennan who went 15 for 30 with 206 yards passing. Tre'Jon Henderson was the leading rusher with 82 yards and two touchdowns. Titan Phillips was the favorite target in the game, nabbing four catches for 55 yards. Dan Stewart was a perfect three for thee on point after attempts but failed the one field goal attempt.
 
Team Crimson didn't get on the board until the second quarter when Henderson rushed in a 32-yard touchdown making it a 26-7 score for Team Black. Team Crimson added on again in the second quarter with another touchdown when Brennan rushed in for a small five-yarder making it 26-14 Team Black. Team Black went ahead a whole two touchdown sin the third quarter when Goff made his first interception of the day making it 28-14 Team Black. Henderson put team Crimson back on the board with a four-yard touchdown making it a close 28-21 Team Black Lead. Goff put the dagger in Team Crimson's hopes when he intercepted Kennedy McGill for a 35-yard pick six securing the 33-21 victory for Team Black.
 
McGill finished with 32 passing yards. Brennan finished with 44 total rushing yards while Justice Taylor tacked on 38 of his own. Marcus Cook and Logan Brady each added on 42 and 34 receiving yards respectively. Jalen Webber, Jaylen Clay, and David Jones all had a pass breakup in the game. Chase Linkous had one sack for five yards while Trishion Sullivan had one sack for two yards.
