Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

'Cats Lose 0-1 to Saints

LACEY, Wash. – Central Washington Women's Soccer team lost a tough conference game against Saint Martin's, 0-1, on Saturday afternoon.

FIRST HALF
  • The 'Cats defense cleared two early corners from the Saints. Shortly after in the 18th minute, Emily Darcy found space and unleashed a low shot at Flavia Burrell who made the save.
  • In the 36th minute, Cameron Sheets corralled a ball in the box and let a shot fly that bounced over Burrell hit the left post and ricocheted out.
  • The Saints responded in the final five minutes of the half, with two shots on goal. Both shots were turned aside by Kass Jaggard, and the teams went into the break scoreless.
SECOND HALF
  • Sami Huber drew a free kick near the box, but Tatum Zuber's attempt was off the mark to the right in the 46th minute.
  • The Saints got a corner in the 51st minute and capitalized. Rose Ivanis put a great ball in, and Jasmine Biava buried it into the back of the net to give the Saints the 1-0 lead.
  • In the 70th minute Emily Darcy got sprung free for a one-on-one breakaway, she slipped and recovered, but the Saints defense was able to dispossess her and clear the ball out.
  • Casey Park took a long high shot in the 89th minute that challenged Burrell, who leaped and made the save.
