Wildcats Host Yellowjackets and Falcons as Conference Play Rolls On

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington women's soccer hosts two GNAC contests this week. The 'Cats face Montana State Billings (1-3-1) on Thursday and Seattle Pacific (4-2-1) on Saturday. Both matches take place at 7:00 PM in Tomlinson Stadium.

"We are very excited about playing Billings tomorrow! It's a good opposition for us to get back to what we do well and find ways of scoring goals! We are also excited about playing Seattle Pacific. It'll be fun to see us play against a team that is very good in possession, and how we handle them tactically."

LAST TIME OUT
Central Washington lost to Saint Martin's 1-0 on Saturday in Lacey. The 'Cats had 15 shots, five corner kicks, and Kass Jaggard recorded six saves in goal.

During the first half, Cameron Sheets had an excellent opportunity to score for the 'Cats, but the ball hit the left post and bounced out.

Historically, Central Washington is 13-15-1 against Billings and 6-4 in the last ten matchups.

SCOUTING MONTANA STATE BILLINGS
The Yellowjackets are 1-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. Montana State Billings fell to Simon Fraser 1-0 at home last Saturday.
 
Montana State Billings averages just under a goal per game, while their opponents are scoring over two per game. The Yellowjackets are registering ten shots a game with 54% of those on target.
 
Sunny Bennion and Kaari Little lead the squad with a goal and an assist each. Kendall McGraw and Erika Wilson have also found the back of the net this season.
Clare Keenan has logged four starts In between the pipes for the Yellowjackets. She is 1-3 with 10 saves and a 2.5 goals-against average.

SCOUTING SEATTLE PACIFIC
The Falcons are second in the GNAC with a 1-0-1 record and are 4-2-1 overall. Seattle Pacific blew out Montana State Billings 7-0 early last week before tying Western Washington 1-1 on Saturday. Jacqueline Blakeley netted her fourth of the season to put the Falcons up one early in the second half. Western Washington didn't back down, and in the 82nd minute, Morgan Manalili found the back of the net to tie the game.
 
Blakeley scored in both games over the weekend and leads her team offensively. She is second in the GNAC with nine points through seven matches and third in the conference with 1.29 points per game. Sophie Beadle is the facilitator for the Falcons and leads the team with four assists through seven games.
 
Seattle Pacific leads the conference in points per game (6.57), goals (17), and assists per game (1.71).
 
Landry Schoennauer started in goal for the Falcons this season. She went 2-2 in her four starts. Mercedes Cullen has been the keeper for the past three games for Seattle Pacific. She is 2-0-1 and has 15 saves and a 0.67 goals-against average.
