Wildcats Draw Against Wolves in Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington women's soccer team (1-5-4, 0-4-3 GNAC) tied 0-0 against Western Oregon (3-3-6, 3-1-3 GNAC) on Thursday evening at Tomlinson Stadium. Danika Galbraith was crucial for the Wildcats as she made 16 saves to keep CWU in the game.

"Proud of the effort and fight today. We keep showing up in big ways defensively. That's two back-to-back shutouts from our back line with some really good chances in front of goal. Looking forward to getting another chance at NNU."
 
FIRST HALF
The 'Cats were outshot 10 to seven but showed poise with their defensive abilities as Galbraith made seven saves. Olivia Fothergill led the Wolves with four shots on goal in 71 minutes played. Teammate Ciara Garcia was close behind with three shots on goal in 90 minutes of action. In the 18th minute, Hart had a great opportunity in front of goal, but goalkeeper Sophia Pierce was there to deny the CWU shot on target.
 
SECOND HALF
The Wolves outshot CWU 15 to two but could not find the back of the net. Galbraith was crucial as she made nine saves. Brenna Hart, Sami Huber and Paige Savage each had a shot on goal for the 'Cats. Savage's shot came close to being the breakthrough in the 88th minute, but goalkeeper Pierce was there to make the save. In the 77th minute, Addy Seher received a yellow card for a foul in the defensive half. Moments later, in the 89th minute Seher received a second yellow card, resulting in a red card.

Your Wildcats host Northwest Nazarene on Saturday, October 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Tomlinson Stadium. They then travel to Burnaby, British Columbia to face Simon Fraser on Thursday, October 24th at 6:00 p.m. The road trip continues as the 'Cats travel to Bellingham, Washington to face Western Washington on Saturday, October 26th at 2:00 p.m.
