ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington women's soccer team (1-9-5, 0-8-4 GNAC) goes on the road for their final two games of the regular season against Western Oregon (4-5-8, 4-3-5 GNAC) and Saint Martin's University (2-12-3, 2-7-3 GNAC).
SCOUTING THE WOLVES
Western Oregon is 4-5-8 overall and 4-3-5 in conference play. The Wolves are 2-2-3 at home and most recently faced Western Washington and Simon Fraser at home. The match against WWU resulted in a 2-0 loss and the matchup against SFU resulted in a 1-0 loss on senior day. The Wolves will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back shutout defeats. Ciara Garcia is a name to watch as she leads the team with goal contributions, four goals and one assist. Ally Beavers has been exceptional in the offensive end with one goal scored and two assists. Olivia Fothergill is another name to watch as she is second on the team in goals scored with three. Sophia Pierce has been great in front of goal as she has made 72 saves in 17 appearances with 13 goals against.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
Saint Martin's is 2-12-3 overall and 2-7-3 in conference play. The Saints are 0-6-3 at home and most recently faced Simon Fraser and Western Washington. The match against Simon Fraser resulted in a 3-3 tie. Taylor Copeland scored in the 22
nd minute off an assist from Eve Charles. Moments later, Ravyn Mummey scored in the 40
th minute to double the lead for SMU. In the 43
rd minute, Mummey doubled her tally with another goal. In the match against Western Washington, SMU suffered a 2-0 defeat on senior day. Mummey is a name to watch as she leads the team in goal contributions with two goals scored and one assist. Rose Ivania Is another name to watch as she has showed her offensive abilities with one goal scored and one assist. Flavia Burrell has been great defensively with 92 saves in 15 appearances with 23 goals against.
LAST TIME OUT
Central Washington played a hard-fought game on Thursday, the 31
st as they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Seattle Pacific.
Sami Huber scored a wonderful goal from the edge of the box as she made a run from the 35-yard line.
Kass Jaggard was exceptional defensively as she made 16 saves to keep the 'Cats in the game.
Casey Park led the team with three shots attempted and two shots on goal. CWU then faced Montana State University Billings in a match that resulted in a 1-1 tie on senior day.
Maggie McBroom rifled a shot in back of the net in the 49
th minute off an assist from
Ava Shiflett to give the Wildcats the lead. In the 83
rd minute, MSUB found the breakthrough on a strike from Jamie Maas to tie the game.
