Monmouth, Ore. – Central Washington women's soccer team (1-10-5, 0-9-4 GNAC) suffered a 1-0 defeat on Thursday afternoon against Western Oregon University (5-5-8, 5-3-5 GNAC).
FIRST HALF
It was a scoreless half that saw CWU get outshot eight to one. In the 22
nd minute,
Casey Park rifled a shot that went wide right of the goal.
Kass Jaggard made four crucial saves to keep the game a tie. Olivia Fothergill had three shots attempted leading WOU but could not find the breakthrough in the chances created.
SECOND HALF
The Wolves outshot the 'Cats 12 to one and created many offensive opportunities going forward. In the 50
th minute, Olivia Fothergill headed the ball In the back of the net, giving WOU the lead. The assist came from Hadlie Bullock as she set up her teammate nicely on a cross from the corner kick position. Seconds later, Fothergill received a yellow card for a previous foul. In the 62
nd minute,
Paige Savage received a red card for a poor foul in the defensive half.
Emily Darcy had the lone shot for CWU. In the 76
th minute, Tamerra Cervantes Carlos received a yellow card for a bad foul. Jaggard made four saves to keep the Wildcats in the game.
