ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington University baseball team [20-22 (14-12)] would open their series with the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets [14-30 (8-18)] on Friday with a 6-4 win in game one, and would fall in game two with a final score of 11-14.
Austin Ohland would hit his 6th home run of the season in game two, making his career total 31 as a Wildcat.

Central Washington would hold on to win game one of the series by a final score of 6-4. Wildcat senior
Alex Brady would get the nod to toe the rubber in game one, picking up the win tossing 5.2 IP, Alex would strike out 7 batters.
Marcus Manzardo would finish 2-5 at the dish with two RBI's.
Aaron Robertson would pick up his first save of the season tossing 2.2 IP.
Scoring:
- Kevin "Baba" Varner Jr. would get things started in the bottom of the first with a double down the left field line. Austin Ohland would rope a single to center field, scoring Baba from second to make it 1-0.
- The Wildcats would strike again in the bottom of the third when Ben Leid would drive in Baba from third on a single to left field to lead 2-0.
- Max Bledy would add another for the Wildcats when he would score Ohland on a sacrifice fly to center in the bottom of the fifth inning. Central wouldn't stop there as Brady Hinkle would drive in Andrew Sharp to add one more, and Manzardo would drive in Jake Felton and Hinkle on a single to right center field. Wildcats lead 6-0.
- GNAC home run leader Payton Flynn would add his 12th home run of the season in the top of the sixth when he would hit one deep to left center field to trail 6-2.
- Blaszak would add another for the Yellowjackets in the top of the 7th inning to make it 6-3.
- Wright would hit a sac fly to right field in the eighth inning to plate another run for MSUB 6-4
Hitting:
- The Wildcats would finish game one scoring 6 runs off of 12 hits, seeing 5 wildcats finish with multiple hits in game one. Manzardo would finish 2-5, Baba 2-5, Ohland 2-4, Leid 2-5, and Sharp 2-4. Hinkle would finish 1-2 at the plate while getting on base twice getting hit by pitch.
- MSUB had 4 runs off of 10 hits in the contest, seeing Flynn add his 12 home run of the season, Blaszak finishing 2-5, Nahler 2-5, and Anderson 2-4.
Pitching:
- Alex Brady would get the start and win in game one for the Wildcats, he tossed 5.2 IP allowing 2 runs off of 5 hits while striking out 7 batters. Beau Kearsey would come in and toss 0.2 of an inning in relief before Aaron Robertson would come in and get the save. A-Rob would toss 2.2 IP striking out 3 batters allowing 1 run off 2 hits.
- Jackson Betancourt would start off the mound for the Yellowjackets in game one and be tagged with the loss allowing 5 runs off 9 hits in 4.2 IP. Wayment, Schaaf, and Baker would all make appearances out of the pen for MSUB.

Austin Ohland would add another home run to his historic career at CWU, as the Wildcats fell short of the comeback in game two.
Jonathan Garza II would start the game on the mound for the Wildcats and be tagged with the loss. Ohland and Leid would finish 3-5 at the plate in game two,
Scoring:
- The Yellowjackets would get on the board in the top of the first when Nehler hit a sac fly, scoring Wright to make it 0-1.
- Ohland would drive a double to left field scoring Baba to tie it. Andrew Sharp would drive one deep over the center fielder's head for a double scoring Ohland, as the Wildcats would take the lead 2-1.
- MSUB would add seven runs in the third (5 unearned) to lead 2-8.
- Leid would single to center field scoring Baba to trail 3-8
- The Yellowjackets would add three more in the fourth to lead 3-11.
- Baba would score Hinkle from third on an RBI single to make it 4-11 in the bottom of the 4th.
- Kellen Berg singled to right field in the fifth scoring Ryan McCarthy, and Hinkle would score on a wild pitch to make it 6-11.
- CWU would add 2 in the sixth inning with runs scoring on wild pitches, Wildcats trail 8-11.
- The Yellowjackets would add 3 in the seventh with a 2 RBI double by Flynn to lead 8-14.
- Ohland would smash a ball deep to left field over the batting cages for a 2 run home run. Sharp would double deep to right field to score Leid as the Wildcats ultimately fell 11-14.
Hitting:
- The Wildcats finished game two with 11 runs off of 13 hits seeing Ohland and Leid finish 3-5. Ohland had 2 doubles, a home run, and 3 RBI's. Leid finished with 1 double and an RBI while scoring twice for CWU. Baba and Sharp would finish 2-5 at the plate seeing Sharp hit 2 doubles and drive in 2 runs, and Baba would hit a double and drive in one.
- MSUB would have 14 runs off 14 hits in the contest, highlighted by Nehlers home run on his 4-4 game at the plate.
Pitching:
- Jonathan Garza II would toss 2.0 IP being tagged with the loss. Nolan Milliman, Reid Rasmussen, and Drew Richardson would all pitch in relief.
- Burnett would get the start and win for the Yellowjackets, he tossed 4.2 IP allowing 6 runs off 7 hits while striking out 5. Finkelstein, Bertram, Schaaf, and Wayment would all make appearances in relief.
