LACEY, Wash.- The Central Washington University baseball team would finish their series in Lacey with the Saint Martin's University Saints Sunday, seeing the Wildcats drop a pair of close matchups. Wildcats Head Coach
Desi Storey would earn his 700th career win as a head coach on Saturday with Garza's no-hitter. Storey is currently in his 33rd season for the Wildcats, taking the reins as head coach back in 1991. Prior to being named head coach, Storey has experience playing and assistant coaching for CWU.

Game 1:CWU-2 SMU-7
The Wildcats would fall in game one to the Saints, seeing
Logan Pierce get tagged with the loss logging 4.2 IP allowing 4 runs off 9 hits while striking out two.
Ben Leid would finish 2-3 at the plate for CWU and Sharp would get both of CWU's runs on an RBI double.
Scoring:
- Andrew Sharp would get things started in the first when he would score Ben Leid and Austin Ohland on a 2 RBI double to right, giving CWU the lead 2-0.
- The Saints got on the board in the bottom of the fifth off an RBI single to left, an RBI double to right center, and a two RBI single up the middle. 2-4.
- SMU would add another two in the sixth off a 2 RBI double down the right field line. 2-6.
- The Saints would add one more in the bottom of the seventh of a sac fly to center making it 2-7.
Hitting:
- The Wildcats would finish game one with 2 runs off 7 hits in the contest, seeing Leid go 2-3 at the plate and Sharp 1-4 with 2 RBI's.
- The Saints would get 7 runs off 14 hits being led by Dylan McGlaughlin who went 3-5 scoring 2 runs.
Pitching:
- Logan Pierce would get the nod for the Wildcats and move his season record to 2-1 in the loss. Beau Kearsey would pitch 3.1 innings in relief for the Wildcats.
- Cole Hatton would start the game for the Saints allowing 3 runs off 2 hits in 4.0 IP. Isaiah Mayfield would pitch 3.0 innings in relief allowing 1 run off 3 hits. Nikki Scott would get the loss in 3.0 IP allowing 1 run off 5 hits in relief.
Game 2: CWU- 2 SMU-4
The Wildcats would be down to their final strike with the bases loaded when the Saints would double off the runner at second on a line drive that the second baseman would make a leaping play on, firing it back to the shortstop covering the bag to end the game.
Daniel Charron would get the nod for the 'Cats, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, the loss moves his record to 3-4 on the year.
Austin Ohland would finish 1-2 at the plate with 2 walks in the game and scored a run.
Scoring:
- The Saints would add two in the second on an RBI single to right and sac fly to center. CWU trails 2-0.
- SMU would add two more in the third on a pair of RBI singles seeing their lead extend 4-0.
- Marcus Manzardo singled up the middle and Kellen Berg would come around to score in the fifth for CWU to trail 4-1.
- The 'Cats would add another in the sixth inning when Ryan McCarthy would score Ohland on an RBI single down the left field line, 4-2.
Hitting:
- The Wildcats would finish game two with 2 runs off 7 hits. Kevin "Baba" Varner Jr. would finish 2-4 at the plate for the Wildcats, Ohland finished 1-2, Manzardo and McCarthy would both add an RBI.
- The Saints had 4 runs off 11 hits in the contest seeing Austin Schaler finish 3-4 with an RBI.
Pitching:
- Daniel Charron toed the rubber for the 'Cats logging 2.0 IP, being relieved by Drew Richardson who would pitch 3.1 IP allowing 1 run off 5 hits. Reid Rasmussen would make an appearance and Gabe Bustamante would log 0.2 IP to close it out.
- Colin Driscoll would start the game on the mound for the Saints, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and would pick up the win moving to 4-3. Connor Mendez would pitch 1.1 innings in relief earning his first save of the season.
