ELLENSBURG, Wash.- The Central Washington women's soccer team (1-3-1,0-2-0 GNAC) fell 1-0 to the Saint Martin's Saints (1-6-0,1-1-0 GNAC) on Saturday afternoon in matchday two of conference action. The Saints found the back of the net in the 27
th minute as Inara Lopes De Andrade drilled a shot in the top left corner giving SMU the lead. The assist came from Ravyn Mummey as she played a through ball behind CWU's defenders.
FIRST HALF
CWU outshot the Saints six to five as
Emily Darcy had a great opportunity to put the 'Cats in front in the 15
th minute but the attempt went wide of the goal.
Peyton Wilson was shown a yellow card in the 13
th minute for a foul committed in the defensive half. The breakthrough came in the 27
th minute as Lopes De Andrade rifled a shot into the back of the net, giving SMU the lead. Flavia Burrell made two huge saves to conserve the lead as
Sami Huber tested the goalkeeper from a long way out.
SECOND HALF
SMU outshot the Wildcats nine to three and were in search of a second goal. Kojima Hinata led the Saints in shots attempted with four and shots on goal with two.
Leighton Menge made four huge saves to keep the 'Cats in the game. The attacking opportunities were created by Central as they had four corner kicks but could not find the back of the net. Huber led the Wildcats with two shots on goal
