PORTLAND, Ore. – The Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced on Monday afternoon that
Brooklyn Parker of the Central Washington Volleyball Team was named GNAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Quoting Head Coach Mario Andaya
"B has been working hard and growing into a very good libero. Her teammates trust her and feed off her energy. She plays like a veteran, but she is only scratching the surface in this game."
Results
Parker led the Wildcats to two wins last week over Saint Martin's and Western Oregon to take sole possession of first place in the GNAC.
In the first matchup against SMU, Parker recorded 20 digs in the four-set victory for an average of 5.00 digs-per-set.
On Saturday, the Wildcats swept Western Oregon with Parker recording 18 digs, one service ace, and logging a 6.00 digs-per-set average.
Overall, Parker logged 38 total digs for an average of 5.43 digs-per-set over the course of seven sets.
