Wildcats Ready for Pair of Games at the Lynda Goodrich Classic this Weekend

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The 23rd-ranked Central Washington University Women's Basketball Team (4-0) heads west to Bellingham this weekend for a pair of games as a part of the Lynda Goodrich Classic, hosted by Western Washington University.

LAST WEEKEND:
 
The Wildcats garnered a pair of victories at the GNAC-PacWest Crossover in Nampa, Idaho.
 
CWU first fended off the Vanguard Lions by a 66-58 score thanks to a 21-point fourth quarter to seal the deal. Asher Cai led the 'Cats with 27 points, adding five rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Fiona Snashall added on 13 points and contributed six rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and one steal. Capri Sims led the 'Cats with nine rebounds while adding nine points, three assists, and one steal. The 'Cats shot 49 percent from the floor, 35.3 percent from three, and 92.3 percent at the free-throw line. The Lions shot 37.1 percent from the floor, 26.3 percent from three, and 87.5 percent at the free-throw line. Vanguard won the battle of the board 37-28.
 
The crimson and black then saw a team effort in a 58-41 victory over the Westmont Warriors. Sims led the 'Cats with 17 points, adding five rebounds, three assists, one block, and two steals. Cai also finished in double-figures with 11 points, tacking on four rebounds, a team-high four assists, and two steals. Kayla Thornton had a seven-point game with an assist and two steals. Snashall had a team-high nine rebounds and four blocks, adding six points, three assists, and one steal. CWU shot 48.9 percent from the floor, 34.8 percent from three, and 80 percent at the free-throw line. Westmont was held to 30.8 percent shooting from the floor, 23.5 percent shooting from three, and 83.3 percent shooting at the free-throw line. The Warriors edged the 'Cats in the rebound battle 31-29.
 
LAST MEETINGS:
 
The 'Cats and San Francisco State Gators last met on November 13, 2015, in Ellensburg where the 'Cats won 59-39. CWU saw a balanced attack that saw all 12 players who touched the floor score. Alexis Berrysmith and Rachel Lorentson led the team with nine points each with Berrysmith adding eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and a team-high four blocks. Jasmine Parker was dominant on the boards, grabbing 13 rebounds while adding six points and two blocks. The 'Cats finished the game shooting 34.5 percent from the floor, 30 percent from three, and 80 percent at the free-throw line. SFSU was held in check, shooting 15.9 percent from the floor, 18.5 percent from three, and 77.8 percent at the charity stripe. The 'Cats grabbed 54 rebounds compared to the 40 the Gators snatched.
 
This will be the first meeting between CWU and the Mary Marauders.
 
SCOUTING THE GATORS:
 
San Francisco State is currently 2-2 on the season. They began their season at the CCAA/PacWest Challenge where they went 2-0, defeating the Jessup Warriors 80-71 before wrapping up the weekend with a 62-55 victory over the hosting Menlo Oaks. Last weekend they hosted the SF State Invite, falling in both clashes. They fell to the Dominican Penguins 64-53 before falling to the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds 72-59.
 
Geriah Bradley is the leading scorer for the Gators at 15.3 points per game. She adds 4.3 rebounds per game, and has a team-high 18 assists, and a team-high eight steals. Athena Brombacher grabs the most rebounds for the Gators with six per contest and adds nine points per game, five total steals, one total assist, and one total block. Malea Scobie has two blocks this season to lead SFSU.
 
Opponents are currently slightly outscoring the Gators 65.5 points per game to the 63.5 points SFSU is scoring. The Gators have averaged a 35.3 field goal percentage, a 33.7 three percentage, and a 74.7 free-throw percentage so far this season. Opponents are averaging 41.7 percent from the floor, 35.1 percent from three, and 61 percent at the charity stripe this season. Opponents are outrebounding SFSU 39-35 and are dishing out more assists than the Gators at an 11.3 to 10.3 per game clip. San Francisco State averages 20 turnovers per game compared to the 19.3 they force from their opponents but average more steals per game at 10.3 than the eight their opponents are snatching. The Gators average 1.3 blocks per game compared to the 2.5 their opponents average.
 
SCOUTING THE MARAUDERS:
 
The University of Mary Marauders have had a stellar start to their season. They began with a clean sweep at the CCA Tip-Off Classic, first defeating the hosting Montana State Billings Yellowjackets 81-71, then taking down the 20th-ranked UT Tyler Patriots 68-48, before concluding the weekend with a 73-44 victory over the Colorado State Pueblo Thunderwolves. At the Central Region Crossover they defeated Central Missouri 65-55 and took down the Missouri Southern State Lions 76-73. They took down the Dickinson State Blue Hawks 81-54 before downing the Minot State Beavers 82-69 in their NSIC-opener.
 
Bergan Kinnebrew has been phenomenal to begin the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 23.3 points per game while adding 5.4 rebounds per game, a team-high 26 assists, 13 steals, and a block already this season. Allison Undlin and Chloe Pfau both are averaging double-figures at 11.6 and 10.3 points per game, respectfully. Undlin grabs 8.9 rebounds per game and has 18 blocks already this season to lead Mary in those respective categories. Pfau leads the Marauders with 14 steals.
 
The Marauders are outscoring their opponents 75.1 points per game to the 59.1 points per game they're allowing. They're averaging 44.3 percent from the floor, 39.5 percent from three, and 80.6 percent at the charity stripe. Defensively, they're holding opponents to 37.7 percent from the floor, 23.9 percent from three, and 75.2 percent at the free-throw line. They're snatching 37.1 rebounds per game compared to the 33.7 their opponents grab. They dish out 15.3 assists per game compared to the 8.9 their opponents give out. They average 14.7 turnovers per game with their opponents turning it over slightly more at 16.3 per game. They currently average 9.3 steals per game while their opponents make 8.1 steals per game. They block the ball 4.6 times per game while opponents block it only 2.3 times per game.

The Wildcats will turn their attention to their GNAC-Opener as they travel back to Nampa, Idaho to face the Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks (3-1) on Saturday, December 6 at noon PST from inside the Johnson Sports Center.
