INDIANAPOLIS – Both the Central Washington University Men's and Women's Basketball Teams have been tabbed to the first NCAA Regional Ranking of the 2024-25 season.
 
The first ranking features the top 10 teams in each region in alphabetical order with the first actual ranking of the teams coming in next weeks regional ranking. Only eight teams make the tournament from each region.
 
The CWU Men's Basketball Team is currently 17-7 on the season and 11-3 in GNAC play with a potential to clinch a share of the GNAC Regular Season Title with a home sweep this weekend against Western Oregon and St. Martin's. Joining the Wildcats in the initial regional rankings are fellow GNAC foes Montana State Billings, Northwest Nazarene, St. Martin's, and Western Washington along with CCAA members Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cal State San Bernardino, and Chico State and PacWest members Biola and Point Loma.
 
The Wildcat Women's Basketball Team is currently 18-6 this season with an 11-4 GNAC record. They will look to get some major momentum this weekend against WOU and SMU heading into their final weekend of the regular season with another tough matchup at Northwest Nazarene next Saturday before the GNAC Tournament. Along with CWU, the GNAC is represented by Alaska Anchorage, Montana State Billings, Northwest Nazarene, and Western Washington in the regional ranking this week. CCAA members Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State Dominguez Hills, and Cal State LA along with PacWest members Azusa Pacific and Point Loma are also featured.
 
Both teams host Western Oregon tonight in a white out game where there will be t-shirts given out prior to the start of the games with the women leading things off at 5:15 p.m. followed by the men's matchup at 7:30 p.m.
