HAYWARD, Calif. – The Central Washington University baseball team dropped the opening doubleheader of the week's series against Cal State East Bay Saturday afternoon at the Pioneer Baseball Field.

GAME 1:
SCORING:
- Sinclair Lee opened the scoring with an RBI double to score Kaiden Hernandez in the top of the first inning.
- The Pioneers answered in the bottom frame to tie it when Dylan Unangst's single drove in Marc Dicarlo Jr.
- CSUEB's offense took off in the second inning, scoring four runs, followed by another run in the third to take a 6-1 lead.
- The Pioneers found three more runs in the sixth and eight innings to make it a 9-1 lead.
- In the top of the ninth inning with two outs, Lance Mittelman hit an RBI single to drive in Conrad Henkel, but the Pioneers got the last out on the next batter to take game one 9-2.

- Camdyn Martindale pitched two innings, allowing five runs, seven hits, and striking out one of the 13 batters he faced.
- Braden Zadow pitched 3.1 innings, allowing two runs, five hits, and striking out one of the 18 batters he faced.
- Logan Thompson pitched 2.2 innings, allowing two runs, three hits, and striking out one of the 13 batters he faced.
- AJ Gamboa pitched six innings for the Pioneers, allowing one run, six hits, and striking out two of the 25 batters he faced.

SCORING:
- Sinclair Lee once again opened the scoring, hitting an RBI single to score Kaiden Hernandez. This sparked off a four-run first inning that saw Max Bledy, Andre Garza record RBIs and then Bledy scoring while stealing home.
- Hernandez scored a run in the second inning off a wild pitch to give CWU a 5-0 lead.
- The Pioneers' bats came alive in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five unanswered runs to tie the game at 5-5.
- The hits continued to go East Bay's way in the fifth with the bases loaded, as Alijah Ramos cleared the bases with a triple to center field to give the Pioneers an 8-5 lead.
- CSUEB continued to hit in the sixth inning with four more runs to take a 12-5 lead that they would hold to win the game.

- Austin Cupic pitched 3.1 innings, allowing five runs, six hits, and striking out three of the 17 batters he faced.
