LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Central Washington University Volleyball team has been honored from the American Volleyball coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, or a 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
The Central Washington University Volleyball Team posted a GNAC-best 3.71 GPA this season. The Wildcats landed in the Team Academic Honor Roll during the 2025 season marking them in the top 20 percent in NCAA Division II with their team GPA. The Wildcats also are on their 11th year earning the AVCA Team Academic Award.
"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."
The Wildcats will be back on campus in a few weeks to begin preparing for a pair of exhibitions against NCAA Division I opponents. The Wildcats will host Eastern Washington on Tuesday, August 18 at 1:00 p.m. inside Nicholson Arena before heading to Spokane, Wash. to face Gonzaga on Friday, August 21 inside the Charlotte Y.
