Central Washington Athletics Mourns the Passing of Former Soccer Player Bryn Waite

Central Washington University Athletics is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former Wildcat women's soccer student-athlete Bryn Waite, who passed away last week at the age of 26.

Waite was a member of the CWU women's soccer program in 2018 and 2019 and graduated from CWU in 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.

A native of Anchorage, Alaska and alumni of Service High School, Waite appeared in 15 games for the Wildcats, making eight starts while recording two assists during her career. She logged 723 minutes on the pitch. Her impact extended well beyond the soccer field, and she will be remembered as a caring teammate and member of the Wildcat community.

Following graduation, Waite remained passionate about serving others and was preparing to begin a new chapter of her life in San Diego alongside her fiancé.

"It's moments like these, when a person's life ends way too soon, that remind us how precious life truly is and how much they were loved by others," CWU Director of Athletics Dr. Dennis Francois said. "Bryn was a very talented student-athlete excelling on the field and in the classroom. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bryn's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time."

Central Washington University Athletics extends its deepest condolences to Bryn's family, loved ones, and all who are grieving this tremendous loss. The Wildcat family joins them in celebrating Bryn's life and the lasting legacy she leaves behind.
