Senior Kodiak Landis recorded a pair of personal records over the course of the final five events in the decathlon to finish fifth at the NCAA Championships with a new CWU school record total of 7,207 points. In the 110-meter hurdles, Landis finished seventh with a personal best time of 15.40 seconds. He later recorded a personal record in the 1,500-meter (4:35.44) to earn his second All-American selection of the year.
