Alexa Shindruk finished 21st at the NCAA Division II Championships in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, earning All-American honors. She also earned the NCAA Elite 90 Award. 

Shindruk found herself in 148th place after the opening 700 meters. By the 2.9-kilometer mark, she'd gained 110 spots and was in 38th place. Shindruk climbed as high as 20th with a little over a kilometer to go. She finished 21st with a time of 23:14.7. Her top 40 finish made her an All-American.

Shindruk was also named the Elite 90 Award recipient. Founded by the NCAA, the Elite 90 recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. The Elite 90 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
