Kady Try (Brentwood, Calif./Mead HS) had 12 kills and 10 digs, leading the Central Washington University volleyball team to its 17th straight series victory over Saint Martin's University with a 25-15, 25-18, 25-18 sweep on Thursday night at Marcus Pavilion.
The Wildcats won their second straight away match and improved to 10-8 overall this season. They are now three matches above the .500 mark in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action at 8-5. Saint Martin's fell to 2-18 overall and 1-13 in the conference.
Central, which has swept each of the past eight season series with the Saints including 15 three-set sweeps over that span, was led by the sixth double-double of the season by Try. The Wildcats' senior outside hitter, who ranks among the NCAA Division II national leaders in both kills and points, was actually held slightly below her season average of 4.26 kills per set on Thursday.
The Wildcats, who were faced with just four ties in the three-set affair against the Saints, had 14 of their players see the court and 11 of them recorded at least one kill. Central was dominant in nearly every team category, finishing with a 41-26 edge in kills, a 58-53 advantage in digs, and outblocked the Saints by a 7-3 count.

Meg Ryan (Spokane/Mead HS) with eight kills. Redshirt freshman
Emmy Dolan (Castle Rock) was next on the kills ledger with four kills while playing just the third set. Setters
Carlee Marble (La Conner) and
Devin Larson (Mukilteo/Kamiak HS) had 22 and 12 assists in two and one set played, respectively. Senior
Brandie Vea (Honolulu, Hawaii/Kalani HS) led three Wildcats in double figures for digs with 15.
Saint Martin's had three players with six kills apiece, including Malia Ibarra, who also led the Saints with 14 digs.
Central Washington remains on the road this Saturday (Oct. 30) with a 7 p.m. match at Western Oregon. The Wildcats will then play three of their final four matches at home beginning with next Thursday's match against the Alaska Nanooks at Nicholson Pavilion.
