Just 29 seconds into the second half, McKole added her eighth goal of the season as she again beat the opposing keeper one-on-one, scoring from 12 yards out. Freshman
HADLI FARRAND (Ellensburg) was credited with her second assist of the season.
Central had numerous opportunities to add goals in the second half as nine of its 17 second-half shots were on goal. One of those shots was scored by senior
SERENA TOMASO (Enumclaw), who gathered her own rebounded shot off the SMU goalie to give the Wildcats a 3-0 advantage at the 87-minute mark.
In total, the Wildcats outshot the Saints 24-7 and also took a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeepers
KAYLA LIPSTON (Federal Way/Decatur HS) and
KORI BUTTERFIELD (Duvall/Cedarcrest HS) earned a combined shutout, with Lipston stopping all four Saints shots on goal, earning her third victory of the season.
Senior
AMY PATE (Federal Way/Thomas Jefferson HS) and Tomaso each led the Wildcats with four shot attempts in the contest, while sisters
BRITTANY FRANKS and
HILLARY FRANKS (Yakima/West Valley HS), as well as McKole, contributed three shots apiece.
Pate, Tomaso, the Franks sisters, Heslep,
KATELYN SCOBBA (Vancouver/Prairie HS), and
ALEX JENSEN (Yakima/West Valley HS) all played their final collegiate home matches for Central Washington and were honored prior to the game.
