Wildcats' Home-Opening Softball Series This Weekend Moved to Selah

Four-Game Set versus Western Oregon to be Played at Carlon Park

Carlon Park in Selah will be the host for this weekend's softball series between CWU and Western Oregon.
ELLENSBURG (Feb. 22) -- The four-game softball series between Central Washington University and Western Oregon University, scheduled to be played this Saturday (Feb. 25) and Sunday (Feb. 26), will be moved to Carlon Park in Selah, CWU head coach Mallory Holtman announced Wednesday.

The series, which is scheduled for doubleheaders at noon and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, will be played in Selah due to unplayable field conditions at Gary & Bobbi Frederick Field on the CWU campus in Ellensburg. Carlon Park is located at 300 East Goodlander Road in Selah, adjacent to Selah High School.

This will mark the second consecutive season that the Wildcats will relocate their season-opening home series from Ellensburg to Selah. In 2011, CWU won three of four games against Montana State University Billings at Carlon Park, jumpstarting a 27-8 Great Northwest Athletic Conference record and second consecutive conference championship for Central Washington.

As is the case for all CWU regular-season home games, admission will be free at Carlon Park.

Central Washington enters this weekend's series with a 4-5 overall record and a 3-1 mark in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. Western Oregon is 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the GNAC.
