Baker, Cable, and Thomas Named CSC Academic All-District

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Three Central Washington University Softball student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the CSC announced on Tuesday. Brooke Baker, McKayla Cable, and Kasi Thomas all grabbed the honor with Cable eligible to move on to the CSC Academic All-American voting that will be announced on Tuesday, June 16.
 
The 2026 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions – NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs.
 
Cable, a sophomore from Albuquerque, N.M. and a First Team All-GNAC honoree, earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor, posting a 3.87 GPA and is still currently undecided on her major. She led the Wildcat offense this season, posting a .426 batting average, 69 hits, 10 doubles, one home run, and 27 RBI while drawing 14 walks and being a perfect eight for eight on stolen base attempts.
 
Baker, a junior from Bothell, Wash. recently earned Second Team All-West Region as a utility pitcher after earning Honorable Mention All-GNAC. She can now add Academic All-District to her resume after earning a 3.73 GPA in Elementary Education. She had a productive offensive output in her first season with the crimson and black posting a.343 batting average on 37 hits while adding eight doubles and 28 RBI while drawing 22 walks. She also added two stolen bases. She appeared in 19 games to pitch, starting six. She posted a 7.30 era an da 1-4 record in 38.1 pitched innings. She allowed 61 hits, 50 runs with 40 earned, 41 walks, and struck out 17.
 
Thomas, a sophomore from Lynden, Wash. and an Honorable Mention All-GNAC honoree earned Academic All-District with a perfect 4.0 in Business Administration. She finished the season hitting a .333 batting average with 34 hits while adding 10 doubles, two triples, and a home run while knocking in 24 RBI this season. She added nine drawn walks and was a perfect two for two on stolen base attempts.
