PORTLAND, Ore. – Seven Central Washington University Softball student-athletes were honored by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Wednesday for their efforts on the field this season with All-Conference distinctions.
Leading the charge on the First Team is sophomore
McKayla Cable. Cable grabs her first distinction from the conference after becoming a leader in batting for the conference. She posted a .426 batting average with 69 hits. Of those 69 hits, 10 came as doubles and she added a home run against Warner Pacific. She knocked in 27 RBI and drew 14 walks while striking out only nine times in 162 at-bats. She also stole eight bases and posted a .960 fielding percentage on the season while catching four base stealers.

Ronnie Ladines said. "Mac has been such a joy to watch play. Her ability to make adjustments and lead our offense has really set a new expectation."
Grabbing her first All-Conference honor and earning her way on the Second Team is junior pitcher
Zoey Theophilus. Theophilus was the go-to pitcher for the 'Cats this season, pitching in 26 games and starting 21. She earned a 9-11 record and a 5.81 ERA while shutting out Warner Pacific and pitched 11 complete games. She pitched a total of 112 innings allowing 150 hits, 106 runs with 93 earned, 69 walks, and struck out 59 of 557 batters she faced. She also posted a .974 fielding percentage.
"Zoey's growth this year has been unmatched," Ladines said. "I'm so proud of the way she has embraced her role and I'm excited to see her thrive next year."
Five Wildcats grabbed Honorable Mention All-GNAC. Senior
Mia Flores grabs her second All-Conference nod after landing on the Second Team last year. She improved her numbers from last season and had a phenomenal senior weekend to earn her GNAC Player of the Week. She hit a .317 batting average for 26 hits, adding five doubles, and one home run. She earned 19 RBI and drew 13 walks. She hit for a .415 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .436. She added an .886 fielding percentage.
"Mia's bat was clutch this year," said Ladines. "It seemed every time we needed some life offensively she was able to produce."
Joining Flores as an Honorable Mention is freshman
Jadyn Holdren. Holdren started her career with a bang, leading the 'Cats with five home runs. She added a .328 batting average with 43 hits. She tacked on 12 doubles and hit for 21 RBI. She tied for a team-high 22 drawn walks and stole two bases. She hit for a .534 slugging percentage and a .423 on-base percentage. She also added a .925 fielding percentage as the primary starting third baseman.
"Jadyn brings a calm confidence to both sides of the game," Ladines said. "She is so fun to watch in the box. I cannot wait to see how much dominance she'll bring the next three years."
Brooke Baker can add an Honorable Mention All-GNAC honor to her resume as the transfer immediately made an impact for the 'Cats both offensively and in the pitching corps. She hit for a .343 batting average on 37 hits with eight hits coming as doubles. She led the team with 28 RBI and tied with Holdren drawing 22 walks. She added two stolen bases and hit for a .417 slugging percentage and a .451 on-base percentage. She pitched 38.1 innings, earning a 1-4 record and a 6.76 ERA. She allowed 58 hits, 47 runs with 37 being earned, and 39 walks while striking out 17 of 219 batters. She also earned a .933 fielding percentage.
"Brooke has been a great addition this year," said Ladines. "She brings a true utility skill set and is a kid who's willing to do whatever is needed."
Another transfer can add Honorable Mention All-GNAC to her resume as
Kasi Thomas earned the distinction. Thomas had a standout year in her first season in the crimson and black, hitting for a .333 batting average with 34 hits. She added 10 doubles and tied for a team-high two triples. She hit a home run against Montana State Billings. She added 24 RBI and drew nine walks while hitting for a .500 slugging percentage and a .433 on-base percentage. She also stole two bases and added a .966 fielding percentage.
"Kasi brings a positive fire to the team," Ladines said. "Her ability to always find a positive is a large part of what makes her successful in this sport."
Rounding out the Wildcat honorees is freshman standout
Izzy Vargas. She was a star in center field for the 'Cats with a .962 fielding percentage. She added a .313 batting average with 35 hits while tacking on six doubles, tied for a team-high two triples, and hit for two homers. She added 21 RBI and drew 19 walks. She hit for a .455 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage. She also stole five bases.
"Izzy walked in and elevated our outfield immediately," said Ladines. "She is always giving 110 percent and putting in the work to continue to get better every day."
