Baker Grabs Second Team All-West Region

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington University softball junior Brooke Baker represented the crimson and black in the 2026 D2CCA All-West Region, grabbing Second Team honors as a utility pitcher.
 
"Brooke put up the numbers to be one of the best in the west," CWU Head Softball Coach Ronnie Ladines said. "She was able to do it in multiple positions and on both sides of the ball. She is a true competitor and we're proud of her for getting this honor!"
 
Baker played in 43 games in her first season with the 'Cats, starting 35 of them. She made 108 appearances at-bat, hitting for 37 hits, a .343 batting average, eight doubles, and knocked in 27 RBI while making it home 18 times herself. She drew 22 walks and only struck out 10 times while earning a .417 slugging percentage and a .451 on-base percentage. She also added two stolen bases.
 
She also pitched in 18 games, starting 6. She finished the season with a 6.76 ERA and a 1-4 record while pitching in 38.1 innings. She allowed 58 hits, 47 runs with only 37 earned, 39 walks, and struck out 17 of 219 batters she faced. Defensively, she had 28 putouts, 42 assists, and 5 errors for a .933 fielding percentage.
 
Baker becomes the first Wildcat to earn D2CCA All-West Region honors since Theresa Moyle in 2021.
