NAMPA, Idaho (May 12) -- Senior BRADY KINCANNON (Federal Way/Decatur HS) hit a home run in each of his final two collegiate games on Saturday, but the Central Washington University baseball team was swept by host Northwest Nazarene University, 13-7 and 5-1, at Vail Field.

The doubleheader marked the end of the Wildcats' 2012 season, as they finish with a 19-31 overall record and an 11-21 mark in Great Northwest Athletic Conference record. Northwest Nazarene finished at 27-22 and 16-16 in the conference.

Central Washington scored first in game one, as senior BRANDON WANG (Mill Creek/Jackson HS) led the game off with a double and scored three batters later on a fielding error to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.

NNU also scored in the first inning to tie the game and added four more runs in the second inning and two in the fifth to take a commanding 7-1 lead.

CWU added a single tally in the sixth inning on a RBI single by Kincannon, scoring senior DERRICK WEBB (Ephrata), and then added another run in the seventh as junior JIMMY RYERSON (Seattle/Roosevelt HS) drove home senior DAVID LEID (Carson City, Nev./Carson HS) on a single that cut the NNU lead to 9-3.

The Wildcats again chipped away at the Crusader advantage, scoring three times in the eighth inning to bring the score to 9-6. Kincannon and Leid highlighted the rally by hitting back-to-back home runs, both to left field, but NNU countered with four runs in the bottom of the inning a 13-6 advantage en route to the eventual six-run victory.

The Crusaders outhit the Wildcats 18-15 in game one, with the Wildcats totaling eight extra-base hits including six doubles. Wang and Webb had two doubles each in the contest and batted 3 for 5 and 2 for 5, respectively. Leid and sophomore ETHAN STERKEL (Ellensburg) were both 3 for 4.

Kincannon provided all the scoring for the Wildcats in game two, hitting his second home run of the day -- and his third of the season -- in the second inning to give the Wildcats a 1-0 advantage. It stayed that way until the fifth inning, when the Crusaders scored all five of their runs on four hits, with most of the damage coming on a three-run home run by NNU first baseman Derek Bettinson.

The Wildcats managed just three hits in game two as Kincannon and Sterkel each batted 1 for 3, while Webb was 1 for 2.

Senior pitcher KYLE LONG (Edmonds/Edmonds-Woodway HS) threw all of game two, giving up five runs on seven hits while striking out two batters to fall to 4-6 on the season.
