GAME ONE: CWU 11, MSU Billings 2

Ellis had driven in three runs with a bases-clearing double just one batter prior to McDaniels' blast, with the two hits turning a 5-2 lead into a 10-2 cushion. Senior
Elena Carter (Olympia/Black Hills HS) then followed with a solo home run two batters later.
CWU overcame an early 1-0 deficit with four runs in the top of the fifth inning. Run-scoring singles by freshman
Michaela Hazlett (Purcell, Okla.) and Ellis scored the first two runs, and freshman shortstop
Andrea Hamada (Walla Walla) then capped the scoring in the inning with a two-run single.
Aubrey Conceicao, who scored both runs for Montana State Billings in the opener, hit a solo home run to start the bottom of the fifth inning that trimmed the CWU lead to two.
