ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Oct. 23) – The Central Washington University volleyball team saw its four game win streak come to an end Thursday night, falling to The University of Alaska Anchorage 3-0 (13-25,24-26,20-25).
With the loss CWU now stands with a 14-6 record and a 7-5 mark in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play. The second-place Seawolves improve to 17-3, 11-1 in the GNAC
The Wildcats fell behind 4-0 to start the first set before
Kiah Jones got CWU its first point of the game with a kill off an assist from
Catie Fry. The Seawolves' offense was in attack mode the rest of the way defeating CWU 25-13 in the opening set as they outhit the Wildcats .361 to .098.
The Wildcats gained their first lead of the contest in the second set at 7-6 and extended that lead to 9-6 early in the frame. Central Washington would go on to build a 17-12 lead as the Wildcat defensive wall of

Julie Hulbert and Fry gave the Seawolves' offense problems with solid play at the net.
Alaska Anchorage rallied back and tied the second set at 21-21 before taking a 23-21 lead over CWU. A Deming kill and a key block by Hulbert and Fry knotted the score again at 23-23. The teams traded points before UAA's Quinn Barker ended the competitive set 26-24 on a strong kill.
The Wildcat offense could not find away around the UAA defense in the third set losing 20-25 while hitting just -.026.
This was Central Washington's worst hitting performance of the season as they combined to hit .033 in the match with 26 attack errors with more than half coming off 14 blocks from the Seawolves.
