Box Score LAS VEGAS, Nev. (Feb. 9) -- The Central Washington University softball team improved upon its historic start to the 2014 season by defeating Western New Mexico 5-0 Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas to improve its record to 5-0.
KIANA WOOD (Aloha, OR/Aloha HS) continued the dominating start to her collegiate career by picking throwing a complete game shutout to improve to 3-0 on the season. She scattered eight hits, while walking two batters and striking out six batters.
Wood finished the tournament with a ERA of 0.73 with 20 strikeouts and just five walks in 24 2/3 innings of work.
JILL MCDANIELS (Walla Walla HS) crushed her third homerun of the season, and also scored on a two-run double by
ALEXA OLAGUE (Wilson HS) in the third inning.

KATIE FOCHER (Missoula, MT/Sentinel HS) both went 2 for 3 on the day as the Wildcats piled up eight hits in the game.
The softball team will get some time off as they next travel to California to play six games on Feb. 21-23.
