ELLENSBURG, Wash. (Nov. 18) – The Central Washington University volleyball team has just one game left this week after falling to Northwest Nazarene on Tuesday (Nov. 17).
The matchup pitted to two top blocking teams in the nation, with each club averaging 2.90 blocks per set. The Wildcats won the blocking battle 12-7 but were outhit by the Crusaders .184 to .252.

Mario Andaya acknowledged that his team will have to play much better Saturday if they want to give themselves the best chance to extend their season. "We will learn from this and train accordingly to ensure that we are better come Saturday."
The Wildcats final regular season match of the season comes at home against Montana State Billings.
The Yellowjackets enter the week at 6-21 overall and 5-13 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference matches.
After taking a pair of losses last week to Concordia and Western Oregon, Billings has to go through Northwest Nazarene prior to playing the Wildcats. The Yellowjackets have not won a road game since Oct. 6, against Saint Martin's.
Ashlynn Ward leads Billings with 333 kills, averaging 3.36 kills per set, and a hitting efficiency of .216. Ward has taken 948 swings, with 128 ending in an attack error.
Senior Kyndal Williams handles the setting duties for the Yellowjackets. This season she has dished out 979 assists, averaging 9.89 assists per set.
Audri Marrs has recorded a team high 67 blocks on the year. Eleven of her blocks have been solo, while 56 are block assists. Miranda McConnell sits behind her with 59 blocks, just one of which is a solo block.
Central Washington swept both of its matches against Montana State Billings last season.
Following Tuesday's match, setter
Catie Fry broke quadruple digits in assists for the season. The senior setter has 1,024 assists, just 34 away from tying her career high in 2013.
Linden Firethorne leads the Wildcats with 359 kills, averaging 3.63 kills per set.
Kiah Jones follows her with 246 kills and a .234 hitting efficiency.
Sabrina Wheelhouse has notched 173 kills, while hitting .362. Her hitting efficiency puts her 19
th in the NCAA Division II. Wheelhouse is not only ranked for hitting efficiency. She is also 6
th in Division II with 1.39 blocks per set. The Wildcats are atop the leaderboards amongst NCAA Division II teams with 2.94 blocks per set.
Wheelhouse leads the Wildcats with 132 blocks.
Kaitlin Quirk is close behind with 129 blocks.
First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will honor seniors Fry,
Rachel Hanses,
Ashtyn Mann, Firethorne, and Quirk prior to the match.
