ELLENSBURG, Wash. – The Central Washington University softball team will look to build upon its seven-game winning streak, and stay atop the Great Northwest Athletic Conference when they host Western Oregon University and Concordia University this Saturday and Sunday.

The Wildcats are coming off an impressive four game GNAC stretch where they swept Simon Fraser and Western Washington to improve to 14-5 on the season and 7-1 in the GNAC. The Wildcats outscored its opponents 40-8 last week, clubbing five homeruns.
Offensively, the Wildcats rank fourth nationally with a .376 batting average, and individually, senior
Kailyn Campbell ranks sixth in the nation with a .536 batting average.
Western Oregon has played just four conference games and sits at 1-3 in the GNAC and 10-9 overall. Last week they lost three of four to Montana State Billings. Offensively, the Wolves are led by all-GNAC second baseman Kelsie Gardner who is batting .464 on the season with 32 hits and 24 runs scored.
Western Oregon does feature the conferences third best team earned run average at 4.24, led by Sammi Cadwallader who is 4-1 on the season with a 2.72 ERA.
Concordia is also off to a slow start in the GNAC with a 3-8 record, 11-14 overall. They also dropped three out of four games last week to the hands of Northwest Nazarene. Reigning GNAC Player of the Year, Meghan Luebbert leads the attack with a .474 batting average, clubbing three homeruns and driving in 18.
The Wildcats and Cavaliers split the season series a year ago, with both teams sweeping their home dates. The Wildcats did pick up an extra win over Concordia in the GNAC Tournament, a 9-6 victory in Lacey, Wash.
