ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- After a perfect start to conference play with a sweep of Montana State Billings last weekend, the Central Washington softball team takes its six-game winning streak on the road to face Concordia (Ore.) and Western Oregon and will look to extend its Great Northwest Athletic Conference lead.

CWU at Concordia | Mar. 17 Noon & 2 p.m. | Portland, Ore., Porter Park |

CWU at Western Oregon | Mar. 18 Noon & 2 p.m. | Monmouth, Ore., WOU Softball Field

Live stats and video for each day can be found at Wildcatsports.com/live

 SIX GAME CWU WIN STREAK
  • Over the past six games, all wins, the Wildcats are batting .355 with 59 hits in 166 at bats.  What is interesting is the power numbers.  Central Washington has had just 11 extra base hits – less than two a game – during the winning streak which means everyone is hitting the ball.  14 different players earned a hit over the span with seven players recording four or more.

  • Theresa Moyle batted .571 including a four-game stretch where she went 7 for 10, earning GNAC Player of the Week honors.  Moyle has collected eight hits, eight runs, six RBI and a home run over the last six games.

  • The CWU pitching staff carries a 2.21 earned run average over its last six games led by Lexie Strasser who is 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA in 14 innings of work.  She has allowed just seven hits and one earned run while striking out 8.  Kayla Smith and Taylor Williams are also 2-0 over the streak with Smith also earning a pair of saves.

ABOUT THE CAVALIERS (12-9, 2-2 GNAC)
Concordia is coming off a pair of splits against Simon Fraser and Western Washington to start its GNAC season 2-2.  Seven of the Cavaliers 12 wins have come against NAIA opponents, and are 4-6 against NCAA Division II opponents.

As a team, CU is batting .290 led by Macy Besuyen at .397 and Elena Cook at .387.  Cook also leads the team in homeruns (4) and RBI (17).

Concordia carries a respectable 3.72 ERA as a team led by McKenzie Smith who holds a 5-1 record and a 2.74 ERA.  Smith is also an offensive threat batting .323 with 14 runs batted in.

ABOUT WESTERN OREGON (12-9, 2-2 GNAC)
Western Oregon also split its series last week against the Vikings and Clan.  The Wolves lost their last two games coming into this week after winning the previous six.

Ryanne Huffman leads the WOU offensive charge with a .415 batting average and a team high 15 runs scored.  The Wolves are batting .307 which ranks fifth in the GNAC.

Lizzet Dominguez had been the Wolves most productive player in the circle with a 5-2 record and a 3.48 ERA.  Haley Fabian will also be featured as she leads the team in innings pitched (54.1) and has walked just 11 batters on the season.
