SCOUTING POINT LOMA
The Sea Lions are 2-0-0 in their young season. Both of their contests came at home with one-goal differentials.
They opened the season with a 1-0 victory over San Francisco State. Alana Diaz netted the game-winner, coming off the bench in the 21
st minute and scoring in the 30
th. Point Loma then handed Cal State LA a 2-1 defeat. Naomi Ellis found the back of the net in the ninth minute. Alison Pepper scored a brace in the 43
rd minute, giving the Sea Lions a 2-0 advantage at the half. The Golden Eagles struck back for one early in the second half. Irma Pinzon cut the deficit in half with a 56
th minute goal, but the Sea Lions held on for a 2-1 victory.
Diaz leads Point Loma in points with three (1G+1A=3TP). Aside from Ellis and Pepper, Mara Sovde has also tallied at least one point with an assist. Point Loma is outshooting their opponents 21-9 through two games.
Senior Emma Hinson has played all 180 minutes in goal for the Sea Lions. She's made two saves and earned one clean sheet.
THE WILDCATS
Central struggled in their last outing, falling to Humboldt State 4-1.
Bella Brown scored the Wildcats only goal late in the second half.
They have lost two of their last three games and hold a record of 1-2-0. The Crimson and Black opened the season with a 3-2 win over the College of Idaho.
Makinzie Packwood,
Sydney Lowe, and
Maci Parke all scored in the victory, with Parke's 74
th minute goal coming as the winner.
Packwood added a second goal to her season totals against Chaminade. She leads the 'Cats in points with five (2G+1A=5TP). Packwood earned GNAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for her first week efforts. Thus far on the season, Central has four different goal scorers and four different players with an assist.
Goalkeeper
Megan Fox has handled all but 16:31 through the first three games. She has faced 37 total shots and made 18 saves.
