QUOTING HEAD COACH MARIO ANDAYA
"We did a lot of really good things [against WWU]. "We have to understand what we did well and try and carry that momentum over but it's a lot of the stuff we've been doing of late. Hopefully we can clean some things up, get back on track, stay the course and see where it takes us."

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN EAGLES
Last night, the Golden Eagles defeated their opening-round opponent, Sonoma State, in four sets. Emily Elliot, the team leader in kills, logged 19 in the match and added 11 digs. Iane Henke recorded 13 kills and four blocks. Haley Roundtree led the team in blocks (6). Ashley Dittman registered nine kills and 10 digs.

Early in the season, the Wildcats and Golden Eagles battled in Cal State LA Invitational with the 'Cats coming out on top in four sets. After dropping the first set to CSULA, the Wildcats dominated the second and third sets and closed the match in the fourth frame.

The Wildcats were led by Kylie Thorne's 13 kills and 12 digs. Emma Daoud-Hebert, who had a monster performance against WWU last night, dropped eight kills on CSULA earlier this year. Ashley Kaufman and Marianna Payne both had nine kills.

The Golden Eagles finished the regular season with a 21-5 record. After falling to CWU back on Sept. 1, CSULA only lost two matches the rest of the way. But, in the opening round of the CCAA Tournament, Sonoma State upset the Golden Eagles. Down the stretch, CSULA picked up key wins over #13 Cal State San Bernardino and #17 Cal Poly Pomona.

The winner of tonight's match will face the winner of Cal Poly Pomona vs. Chaminade tomorrow evening for a shot at the Elite Eight.
