Wildcats Caged by Warriors in Back-to-Back Games

LEWISTON, Idaho.— Central Washington baseball was defeated in back-to-back games on Saturday by Lewis Clark State 15-5 and 5-0. The losses drop the Wildcats to 4-8 overall with one game remaining in the series.

"We had a tough day overall," said Central Washington Head Coach Desi Storey. "We battled against some really good pitching. Game one was a tough one for us on the mound, and we just couldn't get any offense going in game two."

Zach Berryman and Adam Fahsel both led Central's offense today with three hits apiece. Fahsel had one run, one run batted in, and a double on today's stat line.

Austin Hauck kicked off game one with a display of power, hitting his fourth home run this season over the Warriors left-center field fence.

Charlie Larson singled down the right field line in the third, coming around to score on a base hit by Fahsel after stealing third.

Fahsel opened the sixth with a double, and Hauck singled behind him giving the Wildcats two in scoring position. Austin Ohland doubled to left center to score Fahsel and Hauck, then came around to score on a squeeze bunt from Michael Copeland.

Josh Touhey had a good outing in game two, giving up just three earned runs on 11 hits through his five innings of work.

Drake Borschowa shut down the Wildcats in game two. Borschowa allowed only four hits in five innings, striking out six.

Sam Linscott continued his dominance at the plate against the Wildcats, going 4-8 with two doubles, two stolen bases, three runs, and three runs batted in.

The Wildcats and Warriors play one final game tomorrow, February 20th, at 11:00 a.m.
