Kearney, Neb. - The Central Washington University volleyball team split their games on the opening weekend of the 2022 season, with a 2-2 record at the Rosella Meier Fall Classic.

Three Wildcats received All-Tournament honors for their performance on the weekend, including junior setter/outside hitter

On the first day of the tournament, the Wildcats fell to #2 Washburn in three sets but rebounded with a convincing victory over Sioux Falls. On day two, CWU swept Minot State in their early match, but came up just short of an upset against #10 Nebraska Kearney.

Across the weekend, Andaya recorded 33 kills, 80 assists, 26 digs and 15 blocks. Additionally, she recorded a triple-double with her performance against Sioux Falls (13 kills, 21 assists, 11 digs), tying the GNAC career record for triple-doubles.

Stires anchored the Wildcat defense all weekend long, recording 3.40 digs per set (81 total), including 25 digs against Nebraska Kearney.

Through the first four matches of the season, Kaufman leads the team in kills (49) and logged a solid .246 hitting percentage. She also provided 29 digs and five blocks across the weekend. Kaufman's weekend was highlighted by an 18-kill performance against Sioux Falls and a 17-kill performance against Nebraska Kearney.

Up next, the Wildcats will travel to Los Angeles to take on Cal State Los Angeles as the first match of a four-match regional tournament.
