Wildcats Fall to Warriors in Final Two Games of the Series

TURLOCK, Calif. – Central Washington baseball fell 1-9 and 0-6 to Stanislaus State in the final two games of the series on Saturday.
 
GAME ONE
  • Stanislaus State scored five runs in the third inning. Jonluke Goldman hit a single that gave the Warriors a 2-0 lead. A double from JD Madrigal scored Goldman and Danny Murphy nailed a single driving in two more runs to give the Warriors a 5-0 lead.
  • Sam Lauderdale homered in the seventh putting the 'Cats on the board and cutting the deficit to five.
  • The Warriors plated three more in the seventh, two scored off of a wild pitch and then Leonesio roped an RBI single.
  • Kody Cardoza, Patrick Sweeney, and Noah Chelberg combined for a great game, only allowing one run on six hits. Cardoza got the win for the Warriors.  
HITTING PITCHING
  • Daniel Charron threw 4.1 innings striking out two batters. Zach Conners relieved Charron and recorded two strikeouts in his 2.2 innings. Nick Lindholm came in to end the game and struck out a batter.
GAME TWO
  • Robert Valdivia got the Warriors on the board with a bunt single that drove in Flavio Perez and made it 1-0.
  • Stanislaus State added four more runs in the 3rd inning. Perez did the heavy lifting, hitting a single that scored two.
  • The 'Cats hit two singles in the 6th and 7th innings but couldn't capitalize on the baserunners.
HITTING PITCHING UP NEXT
  • The Wildcats host two doubleheaders next week. First, they face Western Oregon on Friday, February 24th at 11 AM and 2 PM. Then on Sunday, the 'Cats take on Saint Martin's at 11 AM and 2 PM.
