LAST TIME OUT:

The Wildcats are coming off a 3-1 series victory in nonconference action against Montana State Billings at Gary and Bobbi Frederick Field. Ashlee Laver and Harlee Carpenter paved the way for the Wildcats through the series.

Laver controlled the Yellow Jackets from the mound from the get go in each days game two posting a one hit shutout on each day of the series as the Wildcats would go on to take those games 7-0 on day one and 3-0 on day two. Another impressive feat for Laver is that she only walked two batters the entire weekend with both of those coming in the day two game.

Carpenter was a leader in the box for CWU as she would go on to accumulate nine hits, four RBI's, and zero strikeouts in 14 at-bats over the weekend.

The Wildcats split the game ones first a 0-8 setback on day one before a 12-7 offensive outing victory in day two.

SCOUTING THE LUMBERJACKS:

The 'Jacks are coming off a two-game series against 14th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills that was supposed to be a four-game series, but the second day's games were cancelled due to inclement weather.

The 'Jacks and Toros took a split between the two games with the Toros winning game one 7-0 before the 'jacks bounced back with a 2-0 victory in game two.

This will be the 68th through 71st ever meetings between the two squads with the 'Jacks holding a hefty advantage in the series 56-11. The last meetings between the two squads came back on April 9th through April 11th,2021 for a five-game series where the Wildcats took the series 4-1.

The 'Jacks currently have two batters batting over .300 so far this season led by Micaela Harris who is batting a .318 average, 14 hits, three RBI's and a .432 slugging percentage. Izzy Starr is the other batter over .300 batting a .311 average, 14 hits, one homerun, eight RBI's, and a .467 slugging percentage.
