LAST TIME OUT:
The Wildcats will look to bounce back after being swept at home by the GNAC leading Northwest Nazarene Nighthawks. On day one CWU fell 2-4 in game one before being shutout in five innings by a 0-8 score. Day two wasn't any kinder as the Wildcats fell 1-4 before falling 0-4.
SCOUTING THE RED LEAFS:
The Red Leafs are coming off a series loss at home to St. Martin's where they only took one of the four games. They won the first game by a 5-4 score before falling 3-8 in game two of the first day. The followed that up with a 4-8 and a 9-15 setback on day two.
This will be the two teams' first meeting this season. This will be the 95
th through the 98
th ever meeting between the two squads with SFU holding a 42-52 advantage in the series.
The Red Leafs are highlighted by the GNAC record holder for stolen bases in Megan Duclos (38 stolen bases on the season). Duclos is hitting a. 402 batting average with 132 at-bats. She is currently the leader in runs and hits with 37 and 53, respectively. Cassidy Affeldt and Kristen Davyduke have each dropped six homeruns this season for a tie for the lead, while Abby McGlynn has recorded the most RBIs with 34 on the season thus far.
SFU is led by Shaneika Hollingworth who is currently pitching a 5.68 ERA, a 3-7 record, and one complete game in 77.2 innings pitched. Hollingworth has allowed 117 hits, 74 runs, 63 earned runs, and 33 walks while getting 30 strikeouts against 340 batters. The Red Leafs also use the services of Nevada Johnson and Julie Hansen for starts. Johnson currently has a 5.94 ERA with a 2-9 record and two complete games in 68.1 innings pitched. Johnson has allowed 119 hits, 96 runs, 58 earned runs, and 22 walks while getting 20 strikeouts against 327 batters. Hansen currently has a 7.18 ERA, a 1-9 record, two complete games, a shutout, and a save in 65.1 innings pitched. Hansen has given up 112 hits, 88 runs, 67 earned runs, and 30 walks while getting 31 strikeouts against 299 batters.
