ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Central Washington women's soccer team (1-4-2, 0-3-1 GNAC) returns home this week to face two GNAC opponents. The 'Cats face Western Washington University (3-2-4, 2-0-2 GNAC) on Thursday, October 10
th at 7:00 p.m. at Tomlinson Stadium. They will then face Simon Fraser University (7-1-0, 3-1-0 GNAC) on Saturday, October 12
th at noon. Come out and show support as these matchups are pivotal to standings and conference seeding.

LAST TIME OUT
CWU is coming off a 1-1 tie last week in Billings, Montana. The Wildcats showed toughness and defensive stability by responding after being down early.
Jordan Bartlow was the lone goal scorer, converting a penalty kick in the 73rd minute. They then traveled to Seattle, where they faced Seattle Pacific University, resulting in a 2-0 defeat.

Maggie McBroom led the Wildcats with shots on goal.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
Western Washington is 3-2-4 overall, third in the GNAC with a 2-0-2 record, and is 1-1-1 on the road. Last week, they hosted Saint Martin's University that resulted in a 1-0 win, as Jane Hmura rifled a shot in the back of the net in the 60
th minute off an assist from Myka Carr, as she struck a shot off the post. They then faced Western Oregon which resulted in a 1-1 tie, in Bellingham. Kryrsten McGuffey scored for the Vikings as she rifled a shot in the bottom left corner off an assist by Halle Noel and Ashley Nguyen who set up their teammate perfectly on a through ball. Lydia Myers will be a name to watch as she leads WWU in goals scored and shots attempted. Her two goals lead the team and 13 shots on goal detail the offensive prowess she possesses going forward. Abigail Trengove has been great in goal as she has made 21 saves through eight appearances. She has only four goals against in 58 shots faced, showcasing her defensive abilities.
SCOUTING THE RED LEAFS
Simon Fraser University is 7-1-0 overall, second in the GNAC with a 3-1-0 record, and is 2-0-0 on the road. Last week out, they hosted Western Oregon, which resulted in a 2-1 victory. Dariella Lopez opened the scoring in the 34
th minute with a volley that went in the top left corner. The assist came from Sarah Caravatta and Isabella Muzzolini. In the second half, with the game tied 1-1, Kate Cartier converted a penalty kick goal in the 64
th minute to give SFU the lead. They then faced Saint Martin's University which resulted in a 7-0 win. All seven goals came from different players, exemplifying team play at it's finest. Muzzolini will be a name to look out for as she leads the Red Leaf's in goal contributions, with four goals scored and two assists. Caravatta is also very dynamic in the attacking third with two goals scored and three assists to her name.
