The Wildcats won their only match of the week against Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday, Oct. 5, sweeping the Nighthawks in Nampa, Idaho, and extending their win streak to five games.
The Crimson and Black were led to victory by
Marianna Payne, who earned 11 kills in the match. Strong performances from the 'Cats also included
Emma Daoud-Hebert (8 kills),
Morgan Halady (7 kills and 4.5 blocks),
Hannah Stires (18 digs),
Kayleigh-Shay Chang (22 assists), and
Lacy Cox (18 assists).
ABOUT THE ALASKA FAIRBANKS NANOOKS
The Nanooks started the season strong, going 8-2 for their non-conference slate and 4-2 in conference play. Rebounding off a loss to Saint Martin's, the Nanooks won both matches last weekend, sweeping the Seattle Pacific University Falcons on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Montana State Billings Yellowjackets on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The Nanook's team leaders are Karli Nielson (196 kills), Elizabeth Jackson (67 blocks), Tessa Onaga (241 digs), Ainsley Smith (573 assists), and Rilee White (28 service aces).
ABOUT THE ALASKA ANCHORAGE SEAWOLVES
The Seawolves started their season going 6-4 in their non-conference slate. In conference play, they're currently in the middle ground of the GNAC in 5
th place with a record of 3-3. They got back to .500 by defeating Montana State Billings on Thursday, Oct. 3, and Seattle Pacific University on Saturday, Oct. 5.
