Box Score TURLOCK, Calif. – The Central Washington University Softball Team wrapped up their time in California with a comeback victory in the final day of the Tournament of Champions over the hosting Stanislaus State Warriors.

SCORING:
- Sarah Warden put the Warriors on the board in the first inning when she sacrificed herself to the center fielder to score Katie Thornsberry.
- Allejandra Perea added on in the third inning singling to right center fielder to score Thornsberry, McKenna Beach, and Malia Babasa making it a 4-0 lead for Stanislaus State.
- In the top of the fourth inning Adriana Rodriguez put the 'Cats on the board when she singled up the middle to score Brooke Blocker.
- Jessica Reitz-Eaton followed Rodriguez with a single to right center to score Raeden Young and cut the Warrior lead in half, 4-2.
- McKayla Cable tied things up later in the fourth when she singled to the left side to score Rodriguez and Reitz-Eaton.
- The Warriors responded in the bottom of the fourth when Karli DalBianco singled through the right side to score Thornsberry and Babasa making it a 6-4 Stanislaus State.
- Serena Perez made it a one run game in the sixth inning when she singled through the left side and score Cable.
- Blocker tied things up in the next at-bat when she singled through the left side to score Heidi Heytvelt.
- Young gave the crimson and black the lead in the next at-bat when she reached on a fielder's choice to score Melise Brown making it 7-6 CWU.
HITTING:
- Cable and Blocker each had three hits while Rodriguez had two.
- Reitz-Eaton, Mia Flores, Perez, and Young all had one hit.
- Cable had two RBI while Reitz-Eaton, Perez, Blocker, Young, and Rodriguez all had one.
- Cable, Halle Dilger, Flores, and Rodriguez all drew one walk.
- Thornsberry, Perea, and Bree Barner all had two hits for the Warriors.
- Perea had three RBI for Stan State.
PITCHING:
- Zoey Theophilus pitched six innings allowing eight hits, six runs, and three walks while striking out four of 31 batters faced.
- Payton Kessler pitched the final inning allowing one hit and one walk against five batters faced.
- Barner pitched 3.1 innings for Stanislaus allowing seven hits, four runs, and two walks while striking out three of the 19 batters faced.
- Sasha Martello pitched the final 3.2 innings allowing five hits, three runs none of which earned, and two walks but struck out one while facing 21 batters.
UP NEXT:
- The Wildcats will head to Richland, Wash. to participate in the GNAC Winter Warmup at the Columbia Playfields next week.
- CWU will first take on Western Oregon on Thursday, February 20 at 2:30 p.m.
- The 'Cats will then take on 24th-ranked Northwest Nazarene at noon then Montana State Billings at 2:30 on Friday, February 21.
- The crimson and black will wrap up the GNAC Winter Warmup against 10th-ranked Western Washington at noon followed by a battle against Simon Fraser at 2:30 p.m.
