QUOTING HEAD COACH JONATHAN HILL
"This was a strong showing for our Wildcats. We brought six athletes, brought home six All American awards while placing 9th in the NCAA for the women's team and 18th for the men. Track is a team sport and we're always focused on scoring to move our team up the national list."
"Lauryn started us out and really battled through the opening bars. She did a good job getting through her opening height clean, but that was it. She's a top talent in this event and can't be discouraged because the bar unfavorably fell 3 times. She's healthy and ready to train for outdoors."
"E'lexis was next competing in the 60m dash, and she did what she was supposed to do, make finals and compete for the win in the fastest final in NCAA history. E'lexis had an awesome meet bringing some of her best races of her life to Indy. 3rd overall in the 60 and 12th in the 200 is tremendous and we think outdoors will be even more special."
"Bauti didn't have his best meet, but outdoors should be another story with a track size he's more accustomed to."
"Sunday was thrilling watching Isaiah PR three times and earn his first All American award. He's disappointed because being 3" from the win makes you realize what could've been. He had a great meet breaking 50' three times and resetttting his own school and conference records in the process."
"Emy followed that up with a magnificent albeit frantic couple hours running back and forth from the HJ to the TJ. She handled the challenge like a NCAA veteran and put the meet out of reach with her first 3 jumps. She wasn't done there, as she jumped 13.00m for the first time in her life, setting a new school record, GNAC all time record, and moving up to #13 in NCAA D2 history. Afterwards, she runs over to High Jump, with 2 misses and a passed bar and clears a new PR of 5'9 to earn top 8. She then clears 1.78/5'10.5" to move up to 6th and score 3 more big points for the team."
"Meanwhile, Johan was doing his thing on the track. He ran two really tough races with lots of contact. He got squeezed a little but fought hard and ended up 4th.  Whenever Johan is in the race, he's got a shot to win, but that's not how it played out Saturday. He scored half our team points with that finish and I'm really proud of his leadership on this trip mentoring the first time guys."
"Based on placing, this was the best finish in program history (women 16th in 2010; men were 29th in 2018), and the highest point total at an NCAA meet in program history."
