Wildcat Football Announces Schedule for 2025 Season Including Five Home Features

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – A full 11-game slate, five home games, and a trip to NCAA Division I Montana all await the 2025 Central Washington University football team this fall.

Season ticket renewals are now open for current football season ticket holders! If you're not a current ticket holder, you can join the 2025 waitlist HERE. Tickets will go on sale starting May 3 at the annual Crimson and Black Spring Game.

CWU will open the season with their first home August game since the 2010 season welcoming Colorado Mesa for a 1:00 p.m. clash inside Steve Hertling Field at Tomlinson Stadium on Thursday, August 28.

The Wildcats will then travel to Missoula, Mont. for a huge test against one of the top teams in NCAA Division I FCS, the Montana Grizzlies on Saturday, September 6 with a time to be determined. The 'Cats and Grizzlies are battling for the first time since April 10, 2021.

West Texas A&M will travel to the 'Burg to open Lone Star Conference play with the Buffs and 'Cats meeting on Saturday, September 20. All home LSC games in 2025 are set to be kicked off at 6:00 p.m.

The 'Cats will then travel to Silver City, N.M. to see the Western New Mexico Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. PST on Saturday, September 27 before welcoming their in-state rivals the Eastern New Mexico Greyhounds to Ellensburg on Saturday, October 4.

The crimson and black will then turn their attention to the UTPB Falcons on Saturday, October 11 at 4:00 p.m. PST from Midland, Texas. Texas A&M-Kingsville will make their first appearance in Ellensburg since 2022 on Saturday, October 18. CWU then travels to Wichita Falls, Texas to take on the Midwestern State Mustangs on Saturday, October 25 at an undetermined time.

The final Wildcat home game of the season happens on Saturday, November 1 when they host the reigning LSC champions, the Angelo State Rams. CWU wraps up the regular season with back-to-back weeks on the road. They make their first trip to Alpine, Texas to face Sul Ross State on Saturday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m. PST before wrapping up the regular season with the clash of the PNW at Western Oregon on Saturday, November 15 at 1:05 p.m. from Monmouth, Ore.

CWU is aiming for its third consecutive NCAA postseason appearance, having compiled a 17-8 record over the past two seasons and reaching the regional final in 2023, where all three games were played on the road. The Wildcats' 2024 campaign came to an end following a late rally that fell short against 10th-ranked Western Colorado.  Looking ahead to 2025, CWU could face new playoff opponents due to realignment of the four super regions. In Super Region 4, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference will be replaced by the Great American Conference and the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association – two leagues that include nationally recognized football programs such as Harding, Northwest Missouri State, Ouachita Baptist, and Pittsburg State among many others.
